Custom Orthotics

Do you know the difference between custom orthotics and inserts?

Custom orthotics are medical devices used to alleviate foot pain by contouring your arch. This helps limit excessive soft tissue strain that leads to foot pain and rebalance your feet. These are analogous to prescription eyeglasses for eyes, while custom orthotics are prescriptions for your feet.

Inserts are readily available at retail stores and are not custom-fitted to your feet. While they offer some benefits, they are short-lived, do not address specific conditions, or rebalance your feet for long-term relief.

If you have unresolved foot pain, you may benefit from custom orthotics.

Our Process

The old school custom orthotics were bulky with limited options and required wet plaster that made a mess. With newer technology, we have converted to digitizing your feet images so that they are on file indefinitely allowing you to easily order multiple pairs as needed and no mess! Our patients have enjoyed this modern process and find comfort in our thinner orthotic shells that don’t take up as much room as the old versions.

The process:

  1. Request an appointment with Dr. Tea

  2. We’ll scan your feet & make the recommended prescription

  3. Select your preferences including shoe type and top cover fabric

  4. Pick up your medical devices in 2-3 weeks or have them mailed to you
